Clive Thornhill, a 48-year-old fisherman of Tabatinga, Lethem in Central Rupununi, was today (Wednesday, 17th August 2025) remanded to prison after he appeared in Court to answer the charge of Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking of 25.6 pounds of narcotics.
Thornhill appeared at the Lethem Magistrateβs Court before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan, where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded not guilty and was subsequently remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to 28th October 2025.
The accused was arrested by Police ranks on 16th September 2025, after he was found with the mentioned narcotics in his possession.
