Joseph George, a 53-year-old labourer of Brush Dam, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with Robbery Under Arms, contrary to Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 08:01.

The alleged offence was committed on a 47-year-old self-employed woman of Montrose, East Coast Demerara, on Monday February 9, 2026, at Vryheid’s Lust Public Road, East Coast Demerara.

He appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday February 12, 2026 before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse, where the charge was read to him.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000 GYD). The matter was adjourned to March 17, 2026.
