66.8 Kilograms of Cocaine Seized at CJIA
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), acting on intelligence, intercepted a major drug shipment at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
During the operation, ranks discovered 53 parcels of suspected cocaine that were intended to be loaded onto a KLM flight bound for Amsterdam. One individual was taken into custody and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the seized narcotics.
At headquarters, the suspected cocaine was weighed and confirmed to total 66.8 kilograms. Investigations into the bust are ongoing.
