The co-founders of the A New and Unity Party (ANUG), Ralph Ramkarran and Timothy Jonas, have resigned after the party signed a coalition agreement with the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party, which United States-sanctioned businessman Azruddin Mohamed heads.
Ramkarran and Jonas’ resignations followed ANUG’s announcement that it has joined forces with WIN to contest the 2025 General and Regional Elections.
In a Facebook post, Jonas, an attorney-at-law, said, “This serves to inform that today I resigned as a member of A New and United Guyana.”
Ramkarran, also an attorney-at-law, posted, “As you know, I have not been active in ANUG for about five years now, and I have paid no membership dues. I am therefore unclear of my status. In the event that I still remain on the books as a member, I hereby formally tender my resignation.”
