Police ranks from Regional Division #2 on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, conducted an operation at Charity Back Street, Essequibo Coast, which led to the discovery of 28.8 grams of cocaine and 115.6 grams of cannabis.
The operation, led by a Superintendent and based on intelligence, targeted a stall owned by 19-year-old Osay Tobin, a resident of the area. While nothing illegal was found inside Tobin’s shop, a search of nearby bushes uncovered a transparent plastic bag containing a whitish rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine. Officers also found a black bag with several smaller plastic bags containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Tobin denied knowledge of the narcotics but was taken into custody along with the seized drugs. He remains detained at the Charity Police Station as investigations continue.
