The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Thursday, September 25, 2025, seized 13 brick-like parcels of suspected cocaine during an intelligence-led operation at a location in Charity, Essequibo Coast.
A search of the premises resulted in the discovery of the narcotics and the arrest of one individual, who was taken into custody and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected cocaine.
At CANU’s headquarters, the parcels were weighed in the presence of the suspect and CANU officers, amounting to 14.836 kilograms.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
