The Guyana Police Force has announced a significant development in the investigation into the murder of Faynel Brewster, which occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

According to police reports, CCTV footage revealed that moments before the fatal attack, Brewster’s brother was being pursued by two men on a black XR motorcycle. Investigators traced the suspects’ movements through the Government’s Smart City Surveillance Cameras, both before and after the incident.

Following an intensive probe, ranks led by senior officers launched a targeted operation at Morcourt Square, East La Penitence, resulting in the arrest of two men, aged 25 and 29, and a 25-year-old female vendor. The male suspects are reportedly from Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, and Buxton, East Coast Demerara.

During the search, police discovered 50 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and a black Honda XR motorcycle, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. Both items were seized and lodged as evidence.

All three suspects remain in custody and are assisting with the investigation as police continue to pursue additional leads.

The Guyana Police Force has assured the public that every effort is being made to bring those responsible to justice.

Investigations are ongoing.
