A routine police operation at Cromarty Farm, Corentyne, Region Six, on Tuesday (18th November) led to the arrest of a 43-year-old farmer and his 55-year-old partner after officers discovered a firearm, ammunition, and suspected cannabis at their home.

The senior officers and their team conducted a thorough search of the residence, where they found a suspected .32 firearm hidden under a mattress, along with one round. Two additional rounds were recovered elsewhere in the house. The officers also uncovered three small zip-lock bags containing 8 grams of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis from the couple.

Both individuals were informed of the offences and taken into custody. The firearm, ammunition, and narcotics were lodged as evidence, and investigations are currently ongoing. Police say the operation underscores their commitment to cracking down on illegal firearms and narcotics in the region.
