Police in Region Two are probing the drowning of 12-year-old Samesh Singh, whose body was discovered early Friday morning along the Golden Fleece Beach.
Singh was reported missing on Thursday evening after leaving home around 4:00 p.m. and failing to return.
Relatives and villagers conducted an overnight search, which ended in tragedy at approximately 08:00 hrs when the child’s body was found along the shoreline.
He was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body has since been transferred to the hospital’s mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.
His sister, Mohanie Sing, said, “When I got the call early this morning from mom, I was hoping to hear they found you; instead, I got the terrible message that you passed away. RIP, little brother.”
Police investigations are ongoing.
