Mahaicony man found dead with suspected gunshot wounds
Residents of Quakers Hall, Mahaicony, were left shaken on Friday night after a 52-year-old man, Sesupaul Ramgobin, known in the area as “John Paul”, was discovered dead at his home under troubling circumstances.
According to police, the incident unfolded close to 11 pm when relatives heard what sounded like an explosion coming from Ramgobin’s house. When they checked, they found him lying on the stairs, unresponsive.
Investigators who later combed the scene noted injuries to the back of his head along with other wounds to his upper body, which they believe were caused by gunfire. Interestingly, officers did not find any spent shells at the location, a detail that has added further mystery to the case.
Ramgobin was rushed to the Mahaicony Public Hospital, but doctors confirmed he had died before arrival. His body has since been taken to Bailey’s Funeral Home as police await a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
At this stage, no one has been arrested, and detectives are continuing their investigations into what appears to be a targeted and violent attack.
