President Ali says more work needed to improve customer service of GPL and GWI

President Dr. Irfaan Ali says more work needs to be done to improve the customer service and efficiency of Guyana Power and Light (GPL) and Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI).

Speaking at an outreach in Corriverton, President Ali said: “The Ministry of Public Utilities they are going to work with these utilities to improve the efficiency in the system and customer relations. That is a big problem where the disconnect between the regional managers of these entities, customer service managers, and the way people are treated.”

President Ali stated that in the “One Guyana” Service Centres that are being built out in all ten regions, there will be a national help desk where persons can go if they feel dissatisfied with any service and make a report.

President Ali said, “It is integrated into a national help desk that goes directly to the Ministers so that we can track every issue and ensure that you are treated with respect, dignity, and service. Our services are delivered with respect and dignity.”
