Police in Regional Division #7 conducted a joint exercise on Thursday, November 27, 2025, between 06:30hrs and 08:15hrs at the Mazaruni Prison, Region 7.
This operation, formed part of ongoing security measures aimed at enhancing safety within the facility, and preventing the circulation of prohibited items.
During the exercise, several items were discovered and seized, including a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis, weighing 66.6 grams, along with five (5) improvised weapons, thirteen (13) lighters, ten (10) cellular phones, one (1) SIM card, three (3) scissors and one (1) cellular phone battery.
The exercise was completed without incident.
Investigations continue.
