Police Probe Fatal Accident at Aubrey Barker, Blue Mountain Intersection
Police in Regional Division 4 ‘A’ have launched an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred around 12:00 hrs on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the intersection of Aubrey Barker and Blue Mountain Roads, Georgetown.
The incident involved motor car PAJ 9875, driven by a 32-year-old salesman of Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, and pedestrian 50-year-old Shondell Dundas of Festival City, who died at the scene.
According to initial reports, the car was travelling east along the southern drive lane of the northern carriageway of Aubrey Barker Road at an alleged fast rate of speed. At the intersection with Blue Mountain Road, the vehicle struck Dundas, who was on the pedestrian crossing at the time.
Dundas sustained severe head and body injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by a doctor. Her body was later transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
The driver was administered a breathalyzer test, which returned readings of 0.003 and 0.004 micrograms of alcohol. He has been taken into custody, and the vehicle has been lodged pending further examination.
Police say CCTV cameras in the area have been identified, and investigators are currently reviewing the footage as inquiries continue.
