Guyana positions itself as regional leader in telemedicine, developing national health-monitoring system

President Dr. Irfaan Ali yesterday announced that Guyana has positioned itself as a regional leader in telemedicine, with a developing national system to closely monitor the availability of medical supplies while enhancing oversight across the public health sector.

According to the initiative, the platform will be able to flag wastage, monitor assets, and ensure better accountability in the use of medical resources. At the same time, it is expected to bring greater consistency in healthcare delivery, allowing Guyanese to travel anywhere in the country and receive the same standard of care, supported by shared digital records and remote medical access.
