Today, Friday August 07, 2026, we proudly conclude the Guyana Digital School’s Online Summer Programme 2026, which over the past three weeks engaged 5,248 students from every region of Guyana in an exciting journey of learning, creativity and personal development.
Students participated across three age groups: Jaguars (Grades 3โ6), Harpy Eagles (Grades 7โ9) and Victoria Amazonicas (Grades 10โ11) and explored a rich programme that balanced academic learning with creativity, leadership, digital skills, innovation, financial literacy, public speaking, cyber safety, environmental sustainability, career exploration and many other essential life skills. Weekly competitions, challenges and interactive activities ensured that learning remained engaging, collaborative and enjoyable.
As part of our commitment to holistic education, the programme also featured a Physical Education Day at the Everest Cricket Club Ground on Thursday August 06, 2026, where more than 700 students came together for an afternoon of sport, teamwork and healthy competition. Students participated in track events, cricket, football, archery, golf, novelty games and many other activities, reinforcing the importance of physical well-being alongside academic success.
The Guyana Digital School extends sincere appreciation to every student, parent and guardian who embraced this initiative, as well as to the dedicated staff of the Ministry of Education whose hard work made the programme a tremendous success.
This may be the end of our summer programme, but it is only the beginning of another exciting academic year. We look forward to welcoming students back when registration for the 2026โ2027 academic year officially opens on Friday, August 14, 2026. Together, we will continue expanding opportunities and ensuring that quality education reaches every learner, everywhere in Guyana.
