Two men from Rosignol, West Bank Berbice, were killed and two others injured in an early-morning accident at Eversham Koker Bridge, Corentyne, on Monday.

Dead are 26-year-old Daniel Singh, a construction worker of Farming Area, Murphy Dam, Rosignol, and 19-year-old Admeer Pooran, called “Isaiah,” of Lot 163 Ally Street, Rosignol.

According to police, the accident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. while Singh, Pooran and two other persons were travelling in a motor car.

The vehicle reportedly suffered a tyre blowout, causing the driver to lose control before the car crashed. Debris from the damaged tyre was reportedly found several feet away from the crash site.

The four occupants were taken to the No. 75 Public Hospital, where Singh and Pooran were pronounced dead on arrival. The other two occupants sustained injuries and were admitted for medical attention. Their identities, ages and addresses have not yet been disclosed.

Meanwhile, Pooran’s mother, Devi Anthony, said she last saw her son on Sunday, the day before the fatal accident. Pooran was the father of one child.
