Guyana’s Natural Resource Fund has climbed above the one-trillion-dollar mark, closing August with approximately $1.019 trillion.
The Fund started the month with just over $907 billion before receiving approximately $161.9 billion in profit oil payments.
Another $20.8 million came from a signature bonus, while no royalty payments were recorded for August.
At the same time, $52.1 billion was transferred from the Natural Resource Fund to the Consolidated Fund.
The NRF also earned approximately $2.85 billion in interest during the month, with no expenses recorded.
By the end of August, the Fund’s balance was equivalent to approximately US$4.89 billion.
The report shows the entire balance was held in cash and cash equivalents, with no liabilities recorded.
