Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Anil Nandlall, S.C., hosted a Regional Security System (RSS) delegation at his Chambers in Georgetown, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance regional security collaboration.
The visiting team, which included key representatives from the RSS and the U.S. Department of State, held discussions aimed at strengthening partnerships with Guyanese stakeholders.
Among the delegation were the Director of International Affairs and Strategic Services, Rhea Reid-Bowen, the Manager of the Digital Forensics Lab, Kisha Suntherland, and the Director of the Asset Recovery Unit, Amy Gasper Nogueras.
The RSS’s visit, supported by the U.S. Embassy and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), forms part of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI).
The engagement focuses on expanding regional ties, strengthening training and operational collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, and exploring new avenues to tackle transnational crime and enhance public safety.
Earlier in the week, the U.S. Embassy in Georgetown reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the RSS’s mission in Guyana through its partnership with INL.
During brief remarks, U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Adrienne Galanek highlighted the importance of the trilateral partnership between the United States, the RSS, and the Guyana Police Force (GPF), emphasising their shared goal of improving security, boosting law enforcement capacity, and building more accountable institutions.
