
Hours after the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Nicholas Narine in Agricola, Greater Georgetown, his younger brother was arrested for allegedly retaliating by opening fire on the home of the suspect’s father.
According to a release from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Keon Narine, a 22-year-old electrician of Ceaser Street, Agricola, was arrested on Monday morning for the alleged discharge of a loaded firearm with intent.
The incident occurred at around 8:30 hours at Lot 120 Brutus Street, the residence of 60-year-old carpenter Gideon Bollers, the father of murder suspect Raphael Bollers.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Keon arrived at the residence on a motorcycle, reportedly armed with a firearm, and fired several rounds at the house, striking it in multiple places. He then fled the scene in a northern direction.
Police later apprehended Keon at his home on Ceaser Street. During a search of the premises, ranks discovered an AR-15 rifle and a magazine containing five live 5.56mm rounds in the bedroom where Narine was found.
He was informed of the offences committed, cautioned, and taken into custody along with the firearm and ammunition. He was transported to the Ruimveldt Police Station, where he allegedly admitted to firing at the house in retaliation for his brother’s murder.
Keon reportedly told detectives that the firearm belonged to his late brother. Detectives who processed the crime scene at Brutus Street recovered eighteen spent 5.56mm shells.
