The court case involving 35-year-old Divindranauth Seeram, Lot 22, Ulverston Village, Corentyne, whose truck wheel came out, struck and killed a woman, was recently dismissed after a $4.4M settlement.

It is alleged that on Sunday, October 05th 2025, on Alness Public Road, a 35-year-old Divindranauth Seeram, Lot 22, Ulverston Village, Corentyne, Berbice, drove motor lorry GAJ 4955 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Donna.

Seeram, who was unpresented, appeared at the Whim Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tuanna Hardy. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Seeram informed the court that he and Donna’s family agreed to a $4,475,000 settlement with the deceased’s husband, Leroy Punch.

After confirming that the information was true, Leroy was ordered by the court to enter the witness box, where he was sworn and testified that he had accepted the settlement.

Following the acceptance of the settlement and the evidence presented, the Magistrate discontinued the matter.

Police had said in a statement that on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at about 09:45 hours, Donna and her husband came out of a street on the northern side of Alness public road to head to church, and were standing at the side of the road. Shortly after 35 Seeram was driving motor lorry GAJ 4955 proceeding west along the southern drive lane when both of its right-side rear wheels became dislodged and collided with Donna, who was standing on the northern corner of the road.

As a result of the collision, Donna fell onto the grass parapet, where she received injuries to her head and body. She was picked up in an unconscious condition by public-spirited citizens and conveyed to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where she was seen and examined by a doctor on duty, who pronounced her dead on arrival.
