Local artist Daniel Wharton, also known as “Baby Skello,” has been charged with blasphemous libel and has been remanded to prison.

He was hauled before Magistrate Judy Latchman in the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates’ Court. He was remanded and is slated to reappear in court on July 1.

The charge stems from a recent song by Wharton, which is claimed to have contained “blasphemous content” against the Hindu religion.
