Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today overruled the no-case submission filed by the attorneys representing Paul Slowe and ordered him to lead a defence in connection with charges of sexual assault.

Read the following statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF):

Today, Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court overruled the no case submission made by Paul Slowe’s Attorneys at Law and called on him to lead a defense in relation to the offence of sexual assault, Contrary to Section 4(3) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03, that he was charged with on the 15th day of October 2021.
The Magistrate based her ruling on the fact that the Prosecution had established by evidence a sufficient case against Paul Slowe. The matter was adjourned to October 2025 for Paul Slowe to lead his defense.
The charge stemmed from a report made by a female Officer that on three (3) occasions in March and April 2019, at Police Headquarters, Eve Leary, Paul Slowe sexually assaulted her.
Senior Police Legal Advisor and Attorney-at-Law Mr. Mandel Moore appeared on behalf of the Prosecution, whilst Nigel Hughes, Dexter Todd and Dawn Cush appeared on behalf of Paul Slowe.
