A man was found dead in a drain at Adelphi Village, Region Six, on Saturday morning.
The deceased man has been identified as Parsram Shivpersaud, 52, an unemployed resident of Lot 15 Adelphi Settlement, East Canje, Berbice.
Shivpersaud, who was known to be a heavy consumer of alcohol, was last seen alive at his sister’s home.
According to the information received, at approximately 19:20 hours on Friday, June 13, Shivpersaud was last seen sitting on the railing of a bridge in front of his sister’s home, smoking a cigarette.
Around 10:00 hours on Saturday, June 14, he was discovered lying face down in a drain in front of the same residence. The discovery was made by his brother-in-law. The discovery was made by Shivpersaud’s brother-in-law.
Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Shivpersaud’s death.
