Empowering Women, Strengthening Economies
The Women’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry Guyana (WCCIG), represented by President Josephine Tapp and Vice President Rowena Elliot, attended an engaging national forum on Women’s Economic Empowerment, highlighting the vital role of inclusive growth in Guyana’s development.
President Tapp underscored Guyana’s remarkable progress, noting that the nation has climbed over 50 places in the Global Gender Index since 2021. She emphasized that equal and fair business opportunities are a national investment, essential for ensuring that no one is left behind in this era of rapid growth.
“When women are not just beneficiaries of development, but architects of it, economies thrive,” she noted, adding that empowering women multiplies impact, boosting GDP, improving community wellbeing, and driving innovation.
