INTERPOL warns AI is fuelling faster, larger-scale fraud

INTERPOL is warning that artificial intelligence and other technologies are allowing fraudsters to operate faster and on a much larger scale.
Executive Director of Investigation Support at INTERPOL, Stephen Fry, says investment scams involving cryptocurrencies and virtual assets are among the growing concerns, with victims losing significant sums of money.
Fry urged the public to be cautious of offers that appear too good to be true and to verify who they are dealing with before sharing personal information.
He also warned that crime is increasingly crossing borders, making international cooperation critical.
Fry says INTERPOL’s network of 196 member countries allows Guyana to exchange intelligence, access databases and work with overseas investigators to track criminals and illicit assets.12:57
