Jennifer Ally’s Home Completely Destroyed in Early Morning Mon Repos Fire
A devastating fire in the early hours of Tuesday, October 21, completely destroyed the two-storey wooden and concrete home of Jennifer Ally and her family at Block 9 ‘C’ Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.

According to the Guyana Fire Service (GFS), the report was received at 01:46 hrs, and firefighters arrived at 01:59 hrs. The response included Water Tender #124, Water Tender #128, and Water Carrier #23.
Leading Firemen Dickinson, Gillis, and Mayers, along with seven firefighters, worked tirelessly to bring the blaze under control. Despite their efforts, the 40ft by 60ft structure—occupied by Ms. Ally, her husband Raji Ally, 42, and their two young children, Nazem, 5, and Azzqat, 4—was completely gutted.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The Fire Prevention Department has since launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
