Mason to stand trial for 2021 fatal stabbing of brother-in-law
A mason charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother-in-law, Daniel Boutrin, is now set to face a jury after pleading not guilty in the High Court in Demerara.
The accused, Martin Blair of Lot 578 Seventh Street, ‘D’ Field, Sophia, appeared before Justice Gino Persaud where a jury was empanelled to hear the matter. Blair was initially brought before the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court following the deadly altercation on March 15, 2021.
The state’s case will be led by prosecutors Padma Dubraj and Praneta Seeraj. Blair is being represented by defence attorney Sasha Roberts.
