Minister Bharrat Engages Barama River Residents During Region One Cabinet Outreach

Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat is currently in Region One engaging residents of communities along the Barama River as part of the ongoing Cabinet Outreach led by President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

The Minister is meeting with residents of Chinese Landing, Kariako and Kokerite to discuss community concerns, development priorities and other issues affecting residents.

The outreach forms part of a wider government engagement initiative, with Cabinet ministers deployed across Region One while President Ali visits the region’s three sub-districts — Moruca, Matarkai and Mabaruma.

The Cabinet Outreach programme is aimed at strengthening direct communication between citizens, government officials and public service representatives, particularly residents of remote and hinterland communities.

Through these engagements, residents are provided with an opportunity to raise concerns, discuss development opportunities and seek solutions to matters affecting their communities.
