
Ralph Pollard, also known as “Monkeyman,” a 29-year-old formerly of Lot 29, Diamond New Housing Scheme, and Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday for theft.
Pollard appeared virtually from Lusignan Prison before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded guilty to the charge read to him.
He was arrested on May 30, 2025, in connection with allegations of break and enter and larceny.
According to a police report, Pollard broke into the home of Andre Perreira at New Granville Park, Beterverwagting, and stole a .32 pistol with 12 matching rounds, cash, and gold and diamond jewellery.
The stolen items had a total value of $10,487,000 and were subsequently recovered by police.
