
Troy Singh, a 30-year-old motorcyclist, lost his life on Monday afternoon following a collision with a motor lorry on the Charity Public Road.
The accident occurred around 14:25 hrs and involved Singh’s motorcycle bearing registration number CM 6673 and a lorry with registration GDD 5397, driven by a 47-year-old resident of Charity Housing Scheme.

According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the lorry was heading west along the roadway while Singh was travelling east at a reportedly high speed.
The lorry driver told investigators he was in the process of making a right turn when Singh lost control of his motorcycle and skidded into the front of the lorry.
Following the impact, the driver said he rushed the unconscious motorcyclist to the Charity Cottage Hospital, where Singh was treated for head trauma and multiple lacerations. However, he was pronounced dead at 14:37 hrs while receiving medical attention.
The lorry driver has since been taken into custody at the Charity Police Station as the investigation continues.
