Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Anil Nandlall, S.C., has expressed gratitude to supporters of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) for returning the government to office following the recent elections.
Speaking on the return of his weekly programme, Issues in the News, Nandlall thanked viewers, listeners, and supporters locally and abroad for their patience during the campaign period and subsequent government transition. He said he deliberately delayed his return to the airwaves until the administration had “settled in,” noting that he had also been overseas on official business.
The Attorney General extended congratulations to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali on securing a second term, and to members of the Cabinet- both reappointed and newly appointed- on their respective roles.
“Permit me to thank all supporters, members, leaders, well-wishers, and in particular, the electorate of Guyana for voting resoundingly for the People’s Progressive Party/Civic and for returning that party to another term in government to continue the transformational work which we recommenced in August 2020,” Nandlall stated.
He stated that the government remains committed to fulfilling its promises to the Guyanese people and expressed optimism that the administration’s development agenda will continue to gain support through 2030 and 2031.
“I wish the Cabinet and the Government of Guyana all the best going forward. Hopefully, we are able to deliver on all the promises we have made once again, so that we are able to persuade you come 2030 or 2031 that we deserve another term in office,” the Attorney General said.
Nandlall assured that Issues in the News will continue to provide a platform for open discussion on matters of national importance as the government advances its “transformational” programmes across the country.
