On Tuesday 14th July 2026, Customs Officers of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) and CANU Officers, acting on information received, searched two (2) incoming barrels from the Unites States of America (USA), which led to the discovery of seventy (70) transparent parcels containing a quantity of foreign cannabis weighing 37.2 kilograms, valued at approximately seventy-one million Guyana dollars (GYD $71, 000, 000), and three (3) pistols, with eighteen (18) 9mm rounds.
Several persons were arrested and are in custody assisting with investigations.
