Former treasurer of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), Faaiz Mursaline, has publicly endorsed President Dr. Irfaan Ali and the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) for the upcoming general and regional elections.
In a Facebook post, Mursaline praised the achievements of the PPP/C government over the past five years, describing the 2020-2025 term as “transformational” under the leadership of Dr. Ali.
“Navigating from all the challenges of the reconstruction of the economy from bottoms-up, it’s a job well done by him and his government,” Mursaline stated. He added that his endorsement is rooted in recognising the historic progress being made and the evolving needs of Guyana’s people.
“Our country has embarked on a positive path of salvation and inclusiveness and will continue to be on the road of prosperity under this progressive movement,” he said emphatically, concluding with the powerful declaration: “One good term deserves another.”
Mursaline, who was one of several PNCR executives who resigned under Aubrey Norton’s leadership, joins a growing wave of opposition politicians openly supporting the PPP/C government.
These include former General Secretary of the PNCR, Geeta Chandan-Edmond, Region Four Chairman Daniel Seeram, and Seeram’s Vice-Chairman, Samuel Sandy.
