Police are investigating the discovery of 30 grams of suspected cannabis during an operation conducted on Friday July 17, 2026, about 15:45hrs at Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown.
Ranks, acting on information received, conducted an intelligence-led operation at a property in the area, where they observed a 47-year-old vendor of Castello Housing Scheme, throwing a bulky black plastic bag over a fence.
The bag was retrieved and searched in the presence of the suspect and a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found.
The suspect and the suspected cannabis were escorted to the East La Penitence Police Station, where the suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 30 grams before being lodged.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
