A police rank and his pregnant wife were injured in a motor vehicle accident at Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), on Sunday night.
The officer has been identified as Leon Singh while his wife, who is reportedly 8 months pregnant has been identified as Kareena DeSouza According to an eyewitness a minibus was seen travelling dangerously before it crashed head-on into their car at high speed.
The impact caused extensive damage to the vehicle, leaving both occupants trapped inside. They were later rescued and taken for medical treatment.
