President Ali Hints at Salary Adjustments for Public, Retired Nurses

President Dr. Irfaan Ali has indicated that salary adjustments may be on the horizon for nurses employed in the public healthcare system, as well as retired nurses.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the government’s Professional Hybrid Nursing Programme on Thursday, where a record 669 nurses graduated, President Ali assured members of the nursing profession that they should not be concerned, signalling that improvements to their remuneration are under consideration.

While no specific details or timeline were announced, the President’s remarks suggest that the government is examining measures aimed at enhancing the earnings and benefits of both serving and retired nurses
