The Region Five Chamber of Commerce has expressed its support for the new People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) administration. This is according to Amaranauth Singh, the Chamber’s President.
Singh congratulated President Irfaan Ali on his reelection as the 9th Executive President of Guyana. He praised the peaceful and democratic conduct of the September 1st General and Regional Elections, noting that the people of Guyana have renewed President Ali’s mandate with confidence.
Singh highlighted his inspiration from President Ali’s inaugural address, which reaffirmed a vision for unity, transformation, and prosperity for every Guyanese. He emphasised the President’s commitments—including expanding social welfare and implementing bold economic measures—that outline a clear path for Guyana’s continued growth.

We embrace the bold aspiration of elevating Guyana to first-world status within the next five years. We stand ready to partner with the government to drive sustainable growth; modernise infrastructure, and expand opportunities for innovation, industry and trading,” he revealed.
Singh also voiced the Chamber’s commitment to support President Ali in the efforts to eradicate poverty, eliminate corruption, and uphold integrity and transparency in both the private and public sectors.
“As Guyana’s economy expands, particularly through oil revenue and strategic investments, it is vital that prosperity is shared equitably. The Chamber will advocate to ensure the economic benefits reach every citizen across Region Five and throughout our country. We echo President Ali’s call for peace, unity and collaboration. The Chamber is committed to working with Government, stakeholders and communities to strengthen democracy, foster inclusion and deliver tangible improvement in the lives of our people,” he said.
