At the Amerindian Heritage Cultural Extravaganza on Monday, Pauline Sukhai reassured that the PPP/C government remains committed to uplifting Indigenous communities.

Sukhai congratulated President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali on his second term and commended his “visionary leadership” and dedication to improving the lives of Amerindians. She highlighted the PPP/C administration’s continued investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and digital access, noting the impact of initiatives like the GOAL scholarship programme.

Calling to preserve Indigenous traditions, Sukhai urged communities to “promote our culture and heritage, revive our languages, and preserve our cuisine.”

She also thanked Amerindians for their patience and support during the recent elections and encouraged full participation in Amerindian Heritage Month celebrations.

She said, “Let us celebrate this occasion with joy, respect, and a renewed sense of purpose as we honour the incredible contributions of the Amerindian community.”
