Marlon Jones, a 38-year-old taxi driver residing at Lot 106 Third Avenue, Bartica, appeared before the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to face charges of receiving stolen articles.
Jones was charged under Section 237(1) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01. The items in question allegedly belonged to Chinese national Jianmei Qiu.
During the court hearing presided over by Magistrate Teriq Mohammed, Jones pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was subsequently granted bail in the sum of $80,000.
The case is scheduled to resume on July 21, 2025, when further proceedings will take place.
