Two men have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Chandradeo Kumar Singh, a 55-year-old horse cart operator who was robbed and murdered on March 31, 2025, at Hill Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.
Twenty-eight-year-old Akeem Mullin was the latest to be charged, appearing before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Friday last.

He was not required to plead to the indictable murder charge and was remanded to prison until June 13, 2025.
Another accused, 25-year-old Prince Ian Jackman of North Sophia, was charged and remanded to prison last month.
According to police, Singh was robbed of an undisclosed sum of cash and two gold chains during a brazen attack involving two men armed with handguns and wearing surgical masks.
The suspects, who fled on a blue and black Lindi motorcycle with no visible number plate, approached Singh while he was sitting on an old refrigerator in front of his Hill Street home, playing cards with two other men.
The bandits dismounted, drew their firearms, and pointed them at Singh. One of them fired a shot into the air, prompting Singh to jump up and run through an alleyway leading to his house.
The gunmen gave chase, firing several rounds in his direction. Two bullets struck Singh in both thighs, causing him to collapse. The attackers then stole his cash and jewellery before fleeing the scene.

The injured man was rushed to the hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
Meanwhile, police say three additional suspects remain at large and are wanted in connection with the same incident.
Wanted bulletins have been issued for Ryan Goodluck, 31, of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD); Tyrese Mullin, 21, of Hill Street, Albouystown; and Damion Bobb, 22, of Bare Root/Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Investigators have urged anyone with knowledge of the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward as the probe into Singh’s murder continues.
