The family of a 53-year-old cane harvester is seeking answers after he died shortly after being involved in a road accident on the Number 75 Public Road, Corentyne, on Friday night.
The dead man has been identified as Roshan Alli, of Lot 315, Number 76 Housing Scheme, Corriverton.
According to information gathered, Alli was reportedly riding motorcycle CL 4734 at about 23:00 hours when he was involved in a collision involving motorcar PRR 506.
The now dead man’s wife, Nazima Alli, said her husband had spent much of Friday attending to his sick mother at Number 65 Village. She explained that Roshan had left home around 5:30 hours on his motorcycle to visit his mother. He and his brother subsequently took the elderly woman to the Number 75 Public Hospital for treatment before returning her home.
Nazima said that while Roshan was returning home later that night, the motorcar allegedly swerved into his path, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and fall onto the roadway.
He sustained injuries and was rushed to the Number 75 Public Hospital, but succumbed shortly after arriving.
His death has left his family devastated, with Nazima saying that Roshan was the main provider for their household.

Nazima is hoping that justice will be served for her husband. She believes he did not deserve to lose his life in such a tragic accident and wants the circumstances surrounding his death to be fully understood and fairly addressed.
Roshan leaves behind his wife and their three children along with other relatives and friends.
