WIN members call for U.S. wanted Azruddin Mohamed to step aside for Sarabo-Halley to be appointed Opposition Leader
Calls have emerged from within the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party from members calling on their party leader, U.S., to step aside and allow Tabitha Sarabo-Halley to be appointed to the post of Opposition Leader.
Sarabo-Halley is an executive member of the party.
Members of the party who spoke to Sheriff News Network said members have a right to express their views on the party’s leadership direction.
According to the members, Sarabo-Halley is currently the most suitable candidate to represent the opposition in the National Assembly. They argue that she is well qualified, legally trained, and better positioned at this time to fulfil the responsibilities of the office.
One party member further contended that Mohamed should first address and resolve his ongoing legal matters in the U.S. before considering himself for such a high-profile parliamentary role. In their view, the unresolved issues could distract from the opposition’s effective functioning and place unnecessary strain on the party.
“We believe that Mr. Mohamed should do the honourable thing and allow the party and the country to move forward,” one member said, while stressing that calls are also coming from individuals who identify as WIN supporters.
The sources maintained that their appeal is not an attack on Mohamed, but rather a call for what they see as responsible leadership and strategic decision-making in the interest of the party and the broader electorate.
Sheriff News Network understands that the WIN party has attracted significant public attention in recent months, particularly surrounding its leadership structure and Mohamed’s political ambitions.
