A young man, identified as Laron Harris of Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was killed moments ago in an accident involving a sand truck along the Belfield Public Road, ECD.
At the time of the crash, Harris was riding a motorcycle with his friend, Josiah Fraser, as the pillion rider. Fraser was rushed to the Enmore Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Eyewitnesses told Sheriff News Network that Harris attempted to avoid a goat that ran across the road, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and veer into the path of the oncoming truck. The impact threw both men onto the roadway.
Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.
