Allottees in Moleson Creek, Region Six, are expected to begin identifying their respective lots in December 2026 as the Ministry of Housing advances efforts to complete outstanding infrastructure works in the area.

Minister of Housing, the Hon. Collin Croal, reaffirmed this commitment on Wednesday during an assessment of the ongoing development, noting that the necessary works must be completed to allow surveyors to begin marking out the lands.

Minister Croal emphasised that all outstanding infrastructure works must be completed by November 30, 2026, to facilitate the December exercise. He instructed that priority be given to land levelling, followed by drainage works, to allow surveyors to begin marking out the lots ahead of the planned December exercise.

The Minister said the Ministry intends to show the lands to all persons allocated lots in Moleson Creek who have paid at least 50 percent of the cost of their lots by December 2026.

He warned that contractors who fail to meet the extended deadline would face liquidated damages, noting that additional time had already been granted to accommodate previous delays.

Minister Croal disclosed that infrastructure development for the 22 lots in Moleson Creek represents an investment of more than $3.4 billion. More than 1,000 acres have also been identified for housing development in the area.

He noted that allocation exercises in Moleson Creek began approximately two years ago, with the area forming part of the Government’s wider housing programme to provide residential lands for eligible applicants.

The Minister also highlighted the area’s development potential, particularly its proximity to the proposed bridge linking Guyana and Suriname, as well as ongoing road connectivity improvements.
