Eubeern Bristol, a 39-year-old labourer, was remanded to prison on Tuesday after being charged with the murder of 44-year-old Leon Fordyce, known as “Nastyman.”
The court heard that on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at High Dam, Caracas Village, West Canje Berbice, Bristol, in company with another, murdered Fordyce.
Bristol, of Smythfield, New Amsterdam, Berbice, appeared at the Albion Magistrates Court before Magistrate Michelle Matthias.
During the proceeding, Prosecutor Sergeant Mark Edwards informed the court that police are hunting for another suspect.
Bristol’s lawyer, Sasha Robertson, inquired about the case’s progression if the second suspect is not arrested, to which Edwards responded that the case could still proceed.
The magistrate granted a request for three weeks to gather statements, and the matter is scheduled to return on June 9. The matter was transferred to the New Amsterdam Magistrates Court.

Reports are that on the day in question, 35-year-old Seon La Fleur, also known as “Shawn,” became embroiled in a heated argument with 44-year-old Angelisha Newyear, who was in the company of Neon De Jonge Bristol.
The confrontation reportedly stemmed from threats made against Newyear’s 26-year-old son, Gregory De Jonge.
As tensions escalated, La Fleur allegedly stabbed Newyear in the abdomen during the altercation. In a separate but possibly connected incident, Fordyce sustained a fatal blow to the head and was later pronounced dead at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Following news of the confrontation, De Jonge rushed to the scene, where he allegedly attacked La Fleur with a machete before fleeing.
It is understood that Newyear was in a relationship with Fordyce. Reports suggest that Fordyce had been in the process of closing his shop when he was brutally attacked.
Last Friday, Gregory was charged and remanded to prison for murder committed on Fordyce.
