Ulric Fingal, who was arrested in connection with a drug bust near the Royal Hotel on Mandela Avenue, has been granted bail after a recent court appearance.

Fingal appeared on Monday before Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, where bail was set at $750,000. Full disclosure was made during the hearing. The trial date has been scheduled for October 14 and 15, 2025.

Fingal’s previous legal representation was provided by attorney Dexter Smart of Todd Chambers. Fingal was initially charged with possession of 3.810 kilograms of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking following his arrest in May.

During a search conducted by ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), acting on intelligence, officers intercepted two men near the Royal Hotel on May 16, 2025 and discovered eight parcels containing suspected marijuana, a CZ pistol, and 19 live rounds of ammunition.

Fingal pleaded not guilty when he first appeared before Magistrate Azore, who denied bail at that time and remanded him to prison.
