GPF STATEMENT || Dikimbie Gittens, a 30-year-old Assistant Accountant of Onderneeming, Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, was arrested on Monday, 22nd September 2025, and charged for committing the offence- Larceny by Clerk or Servant: Contrary to Section 184 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, committed on the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).
He appeared today (Thursday) at the Georgetown Magistrates Court before Her Worship Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead. Bail was refused, and the matter was adjourned to October 15, 2025, for a report.
Gittens is accused of stealing a little over $5 million from the GECOM Secretariat at Barrack and Fort Streets, Kingston, Georgetown, sometime between September 15th and 16th, 2025.
