In its latest move offshore, ExxonMobil and its consortium partners have pushed Guyanese oil output to 770,000 barrels per day (bpd) following the start-up of its fourth floating production system, according to a report from Baird Maritime.

This latest jump in production caps a sharp upward trajectory over recent months. In August, the consortium was averaging about 685,000 bpd, and by September that number had risen to roughly 740,000 bpd as new capacity came online.

The fourth production unit, named One Guyana, is a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel tied to the Yellowtail development in the prolific Stabroek Block. With its commissioning, Exxon and its partners aim to push installed production capacity past 900,000 bpd later this year.

Looking ahead, the consortium has already secured government approval for further projects. The fifth and sixth units—Uaru and Whiptail—are expected to begin production in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Meanwhile, work is ongoing to obtain environmental permits for Longtail, which would be the first Guyanese project to produce non-associated gas, with a target start date in 2030.

Beyond oil expansion, the consortium is eyeing a seventh development named Hammerhead, slated for startup in 2029, though 2028 is expected to be the only year without a new launch in the sequence.
