The Golden Gloves Back Track boat service, located at (Lot 7B, No.78 Village), Eno Bharat boat service nearby, and K.N.S. boat service operating Corriverton–Suriname were ordered to halt on Saturday by the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The GRA stated that these locations are not listed among approved ports of entry or suzerain wharves; therefore, no vessel may load or offload goods there unless directed by a Proper Officer of Customs.

The owner of Golden Gloves, Mohamed Mursaline, told reporters on Sunday afternoon that he and Eno Bharat were approached by a senior staff member of GRA in Region Six and were informed to continue their operations. He said he began working on Monday morning.

Mursaline mentioned that a meeting with GRA officials in Georgetown is planned for Wednesday.

He hopes to regain full operating rights, noting that the business has been in operation for about 75 years, having been inherited from his grandparents.

Mursaline stated that many locals and businesses depend on the backtrack services.
