Ryan Sookdeo, also known as “Scarface,” a 21-year-old fisherman from Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD), has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to break-and-enter-and-larceny.

Sookdeo, who was arrested on June 1, 2025, by ranks from the Vigilance Police Station, was charged under Section 229(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

The charge stems from an incident that occurred the same day at the Non-Pariel home of 32-year-old Samantha Jairam. According to reports, Sookdeo broke into the woman’s dwelling and committed larceny.

He appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read. Sookdeo entered a guilty plea and was subsequently sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
